September 1932

Seiichi Ishibashi, the first president, established a plant specializing in forging business.

1950

May 1953

Newly established Can Manufacturing Division.

November 1955

Established ISHIBASHI Manufacturing Co., Ltd.
Established Machinery Division.

September 1958

Started manufacturing gearboxes.
Completed reduction gears for refining in ironworks.

1960

March 1966

Isao Ishibashi assumed office as second president.

October 1967

Approved as an authorized factory of the Shimonoseki Shipyard and Machinery Works of Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, Ltd., and concluded agreements on quality and inspections with the company.

1970

March 1973

The entire factory was relocated to the current Headquarters address. Introduced gear grinders.
Established a full-scale production system for reduction gears and gear components.

October 1974

Became an authorized factory of the Kasado Plant of Hitachi, Ltd.
Established and strengthened the quality control system and improved related standards.

March 1977

Received an award from the Director of The Small and Medium Enterprise Agency as an excellent company.

1980

April 1981

Certified as a model plant for the rationalization of small and medium companies by The Small and Medium Enterprise Agency.

April 1983

Certified again as a model plant for the rationalization of small and medium companies by The Small and Medium Enterprise Agency.

December 1988

Formed a capital alliance with Flender AG (Germany). Changed company name to Flender Ishibashi Co., Ltd.

1990

November 1992

Katsuhiko Ishibashi assumed office as third president.

September 1997

Acquired ISO 9001 certification.

July 1998

Released the first wind turbine gearbox (600 kW).

2000

March 2001

Ended the capital alliance with Flender AG (Germany).
Changed company name again to ISHIBASHI Manufacturing Co., Ltd.

January 2005

Completed a 2,400 kW wind turbine gearbox.

July 2005

Sales Division became independent as ISHIBASHI Gihann Co., Ltd.

October 2005

Celebrated the company’s 50th anniversary (73 years since its founding).

February 2006

Acquired ISO 14001 certification.

March 2007

Accepted capital participation by Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, Ltd.

July 2007

Certified among “Japan’s 300 Most Vibrant Monozukuri (Manufacturing) SMEs” by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry.

November 2008

Awarded the Good Company Grand Prize by The Medium and Small Business Research Institute.

January 2009

Accepted capital participation by Sojitz Kyushu Corporation.

March 2009

Accepted capital participation by Kobe Steel, Ltd.

Established ISHIBASHI GEARBOX (YINXIANG) Co., Ltd., in Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region, China.
Established ISHIBASHI MFG SERVICE AMERICA INC. in Texas, USA.

November 2011

Kazuhiko Ishibashi assumed office as fourth president.

November 2013

Achieved 2,000 consecutive days of no accidents.

July 2014

Awarded an “Occupational Safety and Health Incentive Award” by the Fukuoka Labor Bureau.

December 2017

Certified among “Companies Driving Regional Growth” by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry.

July 2018

Withdrew from ISHIBASHI GEARBOX (YINXIANG) Co., Ltd., in China.

May 2019

Chairman Katsuhiko Ishibashi awarded the Order of the Rising Sun, Silver Rays by the Cabinet Office.
